Dr Nathan Kerr was an invited speaker and moderator of the symposium on “New Advances in Minimally-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery” at the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Congress in Busan Korea in April.
At the conference, Dr Kerr delivered a presentation to over 500 ophthalmologists on “A New Era in Glaucoma Surgery with Supraciliary Stenting”, focusing on:
- Advantages of the uveoscleral outflow pathway, a natural drainage channel that is the target of the most effective glaucoma eye drops, which can now be accessed in a minimally invasive procedure
- Limitations of medical treatment and traditional glaucoma surgery
- Use of a Micro-Stent in mild to moderate open angle glaucoma to reduce eye pressure and need for glaucoma medications
- Use of this device with cataract surgery
